I was made to feel so welcome from the moment I arrived by everyone and it was such a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere - nothing nicer than listening to the waves breaking especially at night. Ninja the cat also came to make sure that I had settled in properly. The breakfasts were great and the cooked breakfast arrived hot - the tea was also hot when it arrived. The Lodge is also central to everything and within easy walking distance.

Saxon Lodge is located in Gansbaai, which is known as the ideal location for White Shark diving and whale watching. The lodge features a splash pool and uninterrupted views of Gansbaai harbor, Walker Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountains. Most of the rooms offer a sea view and a private veranda. All rooms have a private bathroom which has either a bath or shower and complimentary body care products. The Saxon Restaurant serves home-cooked meals made from fresh produce from the village of Gansbaai. Refreshments are served at the Saxon Arms pub including local wines from the surrounding Overberg region. Free Wi-Fi and private parking is available. Hermanus is a 40-minute drive from Saxon Lodge and the Cape Town International Airport is 91 mi north of Gansbaai.
